Description

Make this incredibly creamy, tangy whipped feta dip in under five minutes. It is a simple, flavorful appetizer perfect for parties or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (taste first)
  • Optional topping: Honey, fresh herbs (dill or parsley), or chopped pistachios

Instructions

  1. Place the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, and lemon juice into a food processor.
  2. Process the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth and airy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides once or twice. This usually takes 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Taste the dip. Add black pepper and adjust salt if needed, though feta is usually salty enough. Process briefly to combine.
  4. Transfer the whipped feta dip to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight swirl or well in the center.
  5. Drizzle generously with extra olive oil and your optional topping, like honey or herbs.
  6. Serve immediately with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • For an even creamier texture, let the feta and cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before blending.
  • You can make this easy appetizer dip up to two days ahead. Store it covered in the refrigerator and let it sit out for 30 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  • If you want a savory twist, add 1/4 cup of roasted red peppers to the food processor when blending.
