Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup Catalina dressing
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips or Doritos
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir the taco seasoning mix and the amount of water specified on the packet into the beef. Simmer according to package directions until thickened.
- In a large bowl, layer the chopped lettuce, cooked taco meat, cheese, tomatoes, and olives.
- In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and Catalina dressing together until combined.
- Drizzle the dressing mixture over the salad ingredients.
- Top the salad with crushed tortilla chips or Doritos just before serving for crunch.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute the chips with baked tortilla strips or skip them entirely.
- You can prepare the meat mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- To make this a low-carb version, omit the chips and use a low-sugar dressing.
