Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed very dry
- 1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to your dough instructions, usually around 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the dry spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, mozzarella, Parmesan, cream cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- Divide the pizza dough into two equal pieces.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the first piece of dough into a large circle, about 12 to 14 inches in diameter.
- Spoon half of the filling mixture onto the center of the dough circle, leaving a 2-inch border around the edge.
- Roll out the second piece of dough into a circle of the same size. Carefully place this second circle directly over the filling.
- Press the edges of the two dough layers firmly together to seal the filling inside. Trim any excess dough if needed.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut 1-inch wide strips radiating from the center toward the edge, but do not cut all the way through to the edge. You should have about 16 to 20 strips.
- Gently twist each strip two or three times to create the wreath shape. Bring the ends of the strips together and pinch them firmly to seal the wreath shape.
- Brush the entire surface of the wreath lightly with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
- Let the wreath cool slightly before slicing or serving. Enjoy the show!
Notes
- Squeeze the spinach very dry; excess water will make your filling runny.
- If you want extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling mixture.
- This wreath looks beautiful when served on a large platter with a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping in the center.
