Description

Create a delightful Snowman Cheese Ball Trio, a charming and easy appetizer perfect for any winter gathering. This recipe features three small cheese balls, allowing you to offer variety in flavor while keeping the presentation fun and festive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 oz crumbled blue cheese (optional, for one ball)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (for one ball)
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley (for coating)
  • 1/4 cup bacon bits (for coating one ball)
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (for coating one ball)
  • Small candy eyes or peppercorns (for decoration)
  • Small pretzel sticks or carrot pieces (for arms)

Instructions

  1. Combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and your choice of blue cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Mix in the chopped nuts (if using for one), minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and dill until well combined.
  3. Divide the cheese mixture into three equal portions.
  4. Shape each portion into a small ball, resembling a snowman body.
  5. Prepare three shallow dishes for coating: one with parsley, one with bacon bits, and one with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Roll each cheese ball firmly in one of the coating mixtures until completely covered.
  7. Place the coated cheese balls on a plate or serving board.
  8. Gently press two small candy eyes or peppercorns onto the top ball for eyes.
  9. Insert small pretzel sticks or carrot pieces into the sides of the middle ball to look like arms.
  10. Chill the cheese balls for at least one hour before serving to firm them up.
  11. Serve cold with crackers or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • You can substitute the blue cheese with smoked Gouda for a different flavor profile.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, use a food processor to combine the cheese mixture.
  • Make the cheese balls a day ahead; they store well covered in the refrigerator.
  • Use black olives for a simple, edible nose option if you skip the carrots.
