Description
Create adorable Reindeer Oreo Truffles, a cute and festive Christmas dessert perfect for bringing joy and playful fun into your kitchen. These treats capture the spirit of childlike discovery.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
- 1/2 cup brown candy melts (for antlers or decoration)
- Small candy eyes
- Red candy for the nose (e.g., M&M’s or small red sprinkles)
Instructions
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a bag and smashing them.
- In a bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix well until a dough forms.
- Roll the mixture into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place these balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the truffle balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the white chocolate wafers according to package directions.
- Dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Return them to the parchment-lined sheet.
- Allow the white chocolate coating to set slightly.
- Melt the brown candy melts separately. Transfer the melted brown chocolate to a piping bag or a small zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
- Pipe small antler shapes onto wax paper using the brown chocolate. Let these harden completely.
- Once the white chocolate coating on the truffles is mostly set but still slightly tacky, attach the candy eyes and the red candy nose to each truffle to create the reindeer face.
- Gently press two hardened brown antlers into the top of each truffle.
- Refrigerate the finished Reindeer Oreo Truffles until they are firm before serving.
Notes
- If you don’t have candy eyes, you can use small dots of melted dark chocolate for the eyes.
- For a smoother coating, add a teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening to the melting chocolate.
- You can shape the truffles into moose or elk shapes by adjusting the antler size.
- These truffles store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
