Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups plain rice cereal (like Chex)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup festive holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract into the chocolate mixture.
- Place the rice cereal in a very large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Place the powdered sugar in a large zip-top bag. Add the coated cereal mixture to the bag.
- Seal the bag and shake well until the cereal is completely coated with powdered sugar. You are doing great!
- Spread the powdered sugar coated cereal onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Immediately sprinkle the holiday sprinkles over the coated cereal. Let it cool completely before serving or storing. Enjoy your creation!
Notes
- You can substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter for a nut-free option.
- If the mixture seems too thick, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to thin it slightly before coating the cereal.
- This makes a wonderful, easy gift when packaged in festive bags or jars.
