Description

This creamy Dill Pickle Pasta Salad is bursting with tangy pickle flavor, perfect for your next BBQ or gathering. Liam, inspired by Sara’s free spirit, turns simple ingredients into a flavorful experience. It is easy to make and delivers that satisfying, zesty punch you crave.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pasta (rotini or elbow recommended)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chopped dill pickles (more if you love pickles!)
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, pickle juice, sour cream, yellow mustard, sugar, celery salt, and pepper until completely smooth. This is your tangy dressing base.
  3. Add the cooled pasta, chopped dill pickles, red onion, and celery to the dressing.
  4. Gently fold all ingredients together until the pasta is evenly coated.
  5. Stir in the fresh chopped dill.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.
  7. Taste before serving and adjust seasoning if needed. You might want a splash more pickle juice for extra tang.

Notes

  • For a bacon ranch variation, add 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon and 1/4 cup dry ranch seasoning mix to the dressing.
  • If you prefer a lighter salad, substitute half the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
  • Use high-quality dill pickles; the flavor is key here.
  • This salad tastes even better the next day!
