Description

Make rich, fudgy chocolate squares with a pistachio layer using this simple no-bake recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pistachios, plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully combined and smooth. This is your fudge base.
  4. Stir in the 1/2 cup of chopped pistachios into the fudge base.
  5. Press about two-thirds of the fudge mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the pistachio fudge layer.
  8. If using, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle them over the chocolate layer. Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the white chocolate into the dark chocolate.
  9. Sprinkle the reserved chopped pistachios over the top layer.
  10. Refrigerate the pan for at least 4 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  11. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge from the pan. Cut into 16 squares before serving.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, place the pan in the freezer for 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • You can substitute almond extract for vanilla for a different nut flavor profile.
