Description

A rich, layered chocolate dessert featuring a cookie crust, creamy chocolate filling, and a light topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk (for pudding)
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate. Chill for 15 minutes.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. Gently fold half of the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Spread this mixture over the chilled crust.
  4. Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to package directions using 2 cups of cold milk. Let the pudding sit for 5 minutes to begin setting.
  5. Pour the pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Sprinkle the miniature marshmallows over the pudding layer.
  7. Spread the remaining half of the whipped topping over the marshmallows.
  8. Chill the pie for at least 4 hours, or until firm, before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute graham cracker crumbs for chocolate wafer crumbs if desired.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate pudding mix.
  • If you prefer a firmer crust, bake the crust for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F before cooling and proceeding.
