- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, gently mix the berries with 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Pour the berry mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt for the topping.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the berries.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berry filling is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
