Description

Create a stunning Maple Bourbon Glazed Salmon perfect for your Christmas Eve dinner. This recipe blends rich sweetness with savory fish for a memorable centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. This is your glaze.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down if your fillets have skin.
  5. Brush half of the maple bourbon glaze evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove the salmon from the oven and brush the remaining glaze over the fillets.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
  9. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can simmer the extra glaze on the stovetop until slightly reduced before brushing on the second coat.
  • For a festive look, garnish with fresh chopped parsley or a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds right before serving.
  • Ensure your bourbon is a good quality one; you will taste the flavor in the glaze.
  • This pairs wonderfully with roasted asparagus or creamy mashed potatoes.
