Description

Create an unexpected holiday snack by combining savory turkey, tart cranberry sauce, and cheesy nachos. This recipe offers a fun, unconventional twist perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Make the cranberry sauce: Combine cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until cranberries burst, about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Spread the tortilla chips in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded turkey evenly over the chips.
  5. Top the turkey with the shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven. Dollop spoonfuls of the cranberry sauce over the melted cheese.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, if using, and fresh parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • Use leftover holiday turkey for best flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cranberry sauce while simmering.
  • If you prefer a thinner sauce, add a splash more water during cooking.
