Description

This recipe for Kid-Friendly Sprinkle Greek Yogurt Bark is a fun and easy snack perfect for children, including picky eaters. It combines the creaminess of Greek yogurt with colorful sprinkles, offering a nutritious and appealing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2% for creaminess)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup colorful sprinkles
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and makes cleanup easy.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. I like to add a little maple syrup because my Leo prefers a touch of sweetness, but you can skip it if your little ones like it plain.
  3. Pour the yogurt mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into a thin layer, about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  4. Generously sprinkle the colorful sprinkles over the entire surface of the yogurt. This is the fun part! Mia loves to help with this step, making sure every inch is covered.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2-3 hours, or until the yogurt bark is completely solid and firm.
  6. Once frozen, break the yogurt bark into smaller pieces. You can snap it with your hands or use a knife.
  7. Serve immediately. Store any leftover bark in an airtight container or freezer bag in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness: If your kids prefer less sweet treats, you can reduce or omit the maple syrup/honey.
  • Add fruit: For extra nutrition, finely chopped fruit like berries or bananas can be mixed into the yogurt or sprinkled on top before freezing.
  • Fun shapes: Before freezing, you can use cookie cutters to create fun shapes if desired.
  • Storage: Always store leftover bark in the freezer to prevent it from melting.
