Make mealtime fun with these easy and colorful rainbow fruit skewers served with a sweet honey yogurt dip. Perfect for kids and simple to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup mandarin orange segments or orange chunks
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 cup green grapes
- 1 cup blueberries
- ½ cup purple grapes or blackberries
- 10–12 wooden skewers (blunt tips for younger kids)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract (if using). Set aside or refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Wash and prepare all the fruit: Hull and slice strawberries, peel and segment oranges, cut pineapple into chunks, wash grapes and blueberries.
- Carefully thread the fruit onto the wooden skewers, following the colors of the rainbow: red (strawberries), orange (mandarin/orange), yellow (pineapple), green (green grapes), blue (blueberries), and purple (purple grapes/blackberries).
- Arrange the fruit skewers on a platter.
- Serve immediately with the honey yogurt dip on the side.
Notes
- Let your kids help assemble the skewers – it’s a great way to get them involved!
- Use cookie cutters to cut shapes out of larger fruits like pineapple or melon before threading onto skewers.
- Feel free to substitute any fruits based on what you have or what your kids prefer.
- For very young children, you might want to serve the fruit and dip separately without the skewers.
