Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
  • Optional add-ins like chocolate chips or blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and melted butter or oil.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in any optional add-ins.
  6. Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with batter.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
