- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
- Optional add-ins like chocolate chips or blueberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and melted butter or oil.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in any optional add-ins.
- Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with syrup or fruit for dipping.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
