Description

A simple and healthy snack loved by kids, these oven-roasted chickpeas are crunchy and satisfying. A fun alternative to chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chickpeas very dry with a paper towel. This is key for crispiness!
  3. In a bowl, toss the dry chickpeas with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 20-30 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until crispy.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the chickpeas are completely dry before roasting.
  • Adjust seasonings to your child’s preference. You can try other spices like cumin or onion powder.
  • These are best enjoyed the day they are made, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days (they may lose some crispiness).
