Description
A simple and healthy snack loved by kids, these oven-roasted chickpeas are crunchy and satisfying. A fun alternative to chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chickpeas very dry with a paper towel. This is key for crispiness!
- In a bowl, toss the dry chickpeas with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Roast for 20-30 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the chickpeas are completely dry before roasting.
- Adjust seasonings to your child’s preference. You can try other spices like cumin or onion powder.
- These are best enjoyed the day they are made, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days (they may lose some crispiness).
