Instructions
- Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into 1-inch thick rounds.
- Place the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the banana slices for at least 2-3 hours, or until solid. This is a great prep-ahead step!
- Transfer the frozen banana slices to a food processor or a high-speed blender.
- Process the bananas, scraping down the sides as needed. It will go from crumbly to thick, then creamy, resembling soft-serve ice cream. Be patient β it takes a few minutes!
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve consistency, or transfer to an airtight container and freeze for another 30-60 minutes for a firmer scoopable ice cream.
Notes
- For variations, you can add a tablespoon of cocoa powder for chocolate banana ice cream, a spoonful of peanut butter, or a splash of vanilla extract during processing.
