Description
This recipe is for a kid-friendly, nut-free chocolate fudge. It is designed to be quick, easy, and appealing to children, making mealtime less stressful.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (optional, to enhance flavor)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the fudge out later.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter.
- Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and melted. This usually takes 2-3 minutes total.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt if using. Mix until everything is well combined and glossy.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
- Once firm, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge from the pan. Cut into small squares.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For extra fun, let your kids help stir the mixture (once it’s cooled a bit) or sprinkle on some colorful sprinkles before chilling.
- This fudge is naturally nut-free, making it perfect for school lunchboxes or playdates where allergies might be a concern.
- If you don’t have parchment paper, you can lightly grease the pan with butter or cooking spray, but parchment makes removal much easier.
