Description

This recipe is for a kid-friendly, nut-free chocolate fudge. It is designed to be quick, easy, and appealing to children, making mealtime less stressful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional, to enhance flavor)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the fudge out later.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and melted. This usually takes 2-3 minutes total.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt if using. Mix until everything is well combined and glossy.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  7. Once firm, use the parchment paper to lift the fudge from the pan. Cut into small squares.
  8. Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • For extra fun, let your kids help stir the mixture (once it’s cooled a bit) or sprinkle on some colorful sprinkles before chilling.
  • This fudge is naturally nut-free, making it perfect for school lunchboxes or playdates where allergies might be a concern.
  • If you don’t have parchment paper, you can lightly grease the pan with butter or cooking spray, but parchment makes removal much easier.
