Description

Easy and delicious mini meatball sandwiches perfect for picky eaters.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 12 slider buns or small dinner rolls
  • Provolone or mozzarella cheese slices, cut into quarters

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
  6. Add the cooked meatballs to the marinara sauce and stir to coat. Keep warm.
  7. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place a few meatballs and a little sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. Top with a piece of cheese and the top half of the bun.
  9. You can serve them as is, or place the assembled sandwiches back on the baking sheet and bake for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • These mini meatball sandwiches are great for little hands.
  • You can make the meatballs ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator or freezer.
