Description
These Kid-Friendly Gingerbread Oatmeal Balls are perfect for busy parents. They are quick to make, nutritious, and a fun way to get kids excited about healthy snacks. My kids, Leo and Mia, absolutely love these, especially with their gingerbread flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups rolled oats
- ½ cup almond butter (or other nut/seed butter)
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons water (if needed for consistency)
- Optional: 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips or finely chopped dried fruit
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix well until a thick dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until it comes together.
- Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls.
- Place the balls on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
- These are great for meal prep; make a batch on Sunday for snacks all week.
- You can adjust the spices to your child’s preference.
- For a fun twist, roll the balls in shredded coconut or finely crushed graham crackers.
