Description

These Kid-Friendly Gingerbread Oatmeal Balls are perfect for busy parents. They are quick to make, nutritious, and a fun way to get kids excited about healthy snacks. My kids, Leo and Mia, absolutely love these, especially with their gingerbread flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup almond butter (or other nut/seed butter)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons water (if needed for consistency)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips or finely chopped dried fruit

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well until a thick dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until it comes together.
  3. Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls.
  4. Place the balls on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

  • These are great for meal prep; make a batch on Sunday for snacks all week.
  • You can adjust the spices to your child’s preference.
  • For a fun twist, roll the balls in shredded coconut or finely crushed graham crackers.
