Description
Easy French toast sticks perfect for little hands and dipping. A kid-approved breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices of bread (slightly stale works best)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Optional: maple syrup, fruit, yogurt for dipping
Instructions
- Cut each slice of bread into 3 or 4 sticks.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, coating all sides. Let excess drip off.
- Heat butter or oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Place the coated bread sticks in the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- Stale bread absorbs the egg mixture better, resulting in less soggy French toast.
- You can make a big batch and freeze them for a quick breakfast later.
- Let kids choose their own dipping sauces to make it fun.
