Description
These Kid-Friendly Chocolate Strawberry Banana Pops are a delightful and easy treat perfect for hot days or anytime your little ones need a fun snack. They combine the sweetness of ripe bananas and strawberries with a delicious chocolate coating, making them an instant hit with kids.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
- Popsicle sticks
Instructions
- Peel and slice the bananas into 1-inch thick rounds.
- Wash and hull the strawberries. If large, you can slice them in half.
- Thread alternating banana slices and strawberries onto popsicle sticks. Aim for 3-4 pieces of fruit per stick.
- Place the fruit pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
- While the pops are freezing, melt the chocolate chips. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth, or using a double boiler. If using, stir in the coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
- Once the fruit pops are firm, dip each one into the melted chocolate, rotating to coat evenly. You can spoon chocolate over them if dipping is too messy.
- Place the chocolate-coated pops back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Return the pops to the freezer for another 15-30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week.
Notes
- For an extra treat, sprinkle with chopped nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Make sure the fruit is very cold before dipping to help the chocolate set quickly.
- If you have picky eaters like my Leo, you can try just banana pops or just strawberry pops initially. Mia loves the combination!
