Description

These Kid-Friendly Cheese & Veggie Snack Kabobs are a simple and appealing way to get your little ones to enjoy healthy snacks. They are quick to assemble and customizable with your children’s favorite ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup cucumber, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 cup bell peppers (various colors), cut into 1-inch squares
  • 8 ounces block cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Colby Jack), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup black olives, pitted
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing or hummus (for dipping)
  • 12 small wooden skewers (or blunt plastic skewers for younger children)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and prepare them. Halve the cherry tomatoes, cut the cucumber and bell peppers into 1-inch pieces, and cube the cheese.
  2. Carefully thread the ingredients onto the skewers, alternating between cheese, vegetables, and olives. You can make patterns or let your child choose their own order.
  3. Arrange the finished kabobs on a platter.
  4. Serve with a side of ranch dressing or hummus for dipping. My son, Leo, loves dipping his in ranch, while Mia prefers hummus!
  5. Watch your kids enjoy their colorful and tasty snack!

Notes

  • For younger children, use blunt plastic skewers or serve the ingredients deconstructed in a bowl.
  • Encourage your child to help assemble the kabobs. This makes them more likely to eat what they’ve created.
  • Feel free to substitute with other kid-friendly vegetables like steamed broccoli florets or cooked carrot chunks.
  • These kabobs are great for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, or even a light dinner.
