Description
Easy and delicious BBQ chicken sliders perfect for picky eaters and busy parents. This recipe uses simple ingredients and minimal prep for a stress-free meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely diced
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (kid-friendly mild variety recommended)
- 12 mini slider buns
- Optional toppings: dill pickle slices, mild cheddar cheese slices, thinly sliced red onion
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken and BBQ sauce. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated.
- Heat the chicken mixture gently in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until warmed through. This usually takes about 5 minutes on the stovetop or 2-3 minutes in the microwave, stirring halfway.
- Slice the mini slider buns in half.
- Spoon a generous amount of the warm BBQ chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each slider bun.
- Add any desired toppings like pickle slices or cheese. Leo loves his with just the chicken, but Mia is a fan of a little slice of cheese melting on top!
- Place the top half of the bun on each slider.
- Serve immediately and watch those little hands grab them up!
Notes
- You can use leftover rotisserie chicken or boil and shred chicken breasts for this recipe.
- Adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to your family’s preference.
- For a fun twist, toast the slider buns lightly before assembling.
- These sliders are great for lunch, dinner, or even a quick snack.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
