Description

Easy and delicious BBQ chicken sliders perfect for picky eaters and busy parents. This recipe uses simple ingredients and minimal prep for a stress-free meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or finely diced
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (kid-friendly mild variety recommended)
  • 12 mini slider buns
  • Optional toppings: dill pickle slices, mild cheddar cheese slices, thinly sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken and BBQ sauce. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Heat the chicken mixture gently in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until warmed through. This usually takes about 5 minutes on the stovetop or 2-3 minutes in the microwave, stirring halfway.
  3. Slice the mini slider buns in half.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the warm BBQ chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each slider bun.
  5. Add any desired toppings like pickle slices or cheese. Leo loves his with just the chicken, but Mia is a fan of a little slice of cheese melting on top!
  6. Place the top half of the bun on each slider.
  7. Serve immediately and watch those little hands grab them up!

Notes

  • You can use leftover rotisserie chicken or boil and shred chicken breasts for this recipe.
  • Adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to your family’s preference.
  • For a fun twist, toast the slider buns lightly before assembling.
  • These sliders are great for lunch, dinner, or even a quick snack.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
