Description

Follow these steps to make a refreshing homemade iced peach green tea using fresh peaches or simple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 green tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose leaf green tea)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peach slices
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup water (for syrup)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the peach simple syrup: Combine the peach slices, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture simmers gently. Cook for 5 minutes until peaches soften slightly. Remove from heat and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain the syrup, pressing the solids to extract liquid. Discard solids.
  2. Brew the tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool for 2 minutes (to prevent bitterness). Add the green tea bags or loose leaf tea. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove tea bags or strain leaves.
  3. Combine and chill: While the tea is still warm, stir in the prepared peach simple syrup to taste.
  4. Cool the tea completely in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Serve the chilled tea over ice. Add more sweetener or fresh peach slices if desired.

Notes

  • For a stronger tea flavor, use slightly less water when brewing.
  • If you prefer a lighter peach flavor, use less of the prepared syrup.
  • You can cold brew the green tea overnight for a smoother taste.
