Description
Make a bright, cooling beverage combining earthy matcha green tea with sweet pineapple juice, perfect for a summer energy boost.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 2 ounces hot water (175°F)
- 6 ounces pineapple juice, chilled
- 4 ounces coconut milk (or water for a lighter version)
- 1 teaspoon simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or matcha bowl.
- Add the hot water (175°F) to the matcha. Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or electric frother until the mixture is smooth and frothy with no clumps. This is your matcha base.
- In a separate tall glass, combine the chilled pineapple juice, coconut milk, and simple syrup. Stir well.
- Fill the glass completely with ice cubes.
- Slowly pour the prepared matcha base over the top of the juice mixture.
- Serve immediately without stirring to enjoy the layered look, or gently stir before drinking for a uniform color and flavor.
Notes
- For a stronger matcha flavor, increase the powder to 1.5 teaspoons.
- If you do not have simple syrup, dissolve 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar in the hot water before whisking the matcha.
- Use filtered water for the best taste in your matcha base.
