Description
Make mealtime fun with these adorable and easy fruit caterpillars, perfect for a healthy summer breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large green apple
- 1 cup red or green grapes
- Small amount of peanut butter or cream cheese (for ‘glue’)
- Edible eyes or small chocolate chips (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apple and grapes.
- Cut the apple into bite-sized cubes.
- Thread the apple cubes and grapes onto skewers, alternating between them to create the caterpillar body.
- Use a tiny dot of peanut butter or cream cheese to attach edible eyes or chocolate chips to the front grape for the caterpillar’s head.
- Arrange the fruit caterpillars on a plate and serve immediately.
Notes
- Supervise young children with skewers. Alternatively, you can arrange the fruit directly on a plate without skewers.
- Experiment with other fruits like melon, berries, or banana slices.
- This is a great opportunity to let kids help assemble their own caterpillars.
