Description

Make mealtime fun with these adorable and easy fruit caterpillars, perfect for a healthy summer breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large green apple
  • 1 cup red or green grapes
  • Small amount of peanut butter or cream cheese (for ‘glue’)
  • Edible eyes or small chocolate chips (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apple and grapes.
  2. Cut the apple into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Thread the apple cubes and grapes onto skewers, alternating between them to create the caterpillar body.
  4. Use a tiny dot of peanut butter or cream cheese to attach edible eyes or chocolate chips to the front grape for the caterpillar’s head.
  5. Arrange the fruit caterpillars on a plate and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Supervise young children with skewers. Alternatively, you can arrange the fruit directly on a plate without skewers.
  • Experiment with other fruits like melon, berries, or banana slices.
  • This is a great opportunity to let kids help assemble their own caterpillars.
