Description
Make this simple, cooling cucumber lime agua fresca quickly. This recipe uses a blender and strainer for a smooth, refreshing drink perfect for hot weather.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large cucumbers, peeled and roughly chopped
- 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 6–8 limes)
- 6 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup ice cubes (for blending)
- Extra lime slices and cucumber rounds for garnish
Instructions
- Place the chopped cucumbers, lime juice, sugar, and 1 cup of ice cubes into a blender.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve set over a large pitcher. Press the solids gently with a spoon to extract all the liquid. Discard the pulp.
- Stir the remaining 5 cups of cold water into the pitcher. Taste and add more sugar or lime juice if needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve over fresh ice, garnished with cucumber rounds and lime slices.
Notes
- For a thinner drink, increase the water content by one cup.
- If you prefer a less sweet drink, start with 1/4 cup of sugar and add more after tasting.
- This agua fresca keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving as some settling may occur.
