Description
Make tender, juicy steak bites with minimal effort using your slow cooker. This recipe features a rich garlic butter sauce perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels. Season the steak cubes evenly with salt and pepper.
- Place the seasoned steak cubes into the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Pour the beef broth over the steak. Dot the top of the steak with the pieces of butter.
- Sprinkle the minced garlic and Italian seasoning over the butter and steak.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender. Avoid overcooking.
- Once cooked, remove the lid. Stir gently to incorporate the melted butter and juices, creating a simple sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For the best texture, check the steak around the 3-hour mark on low setting.
- If you prefer a slightly thicker sauce, you can remove the steak and simmer the remaining liquid on the stovetop with a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water) until thickened.
- This recipe works well with sirloin or tenderloin cuts.
