Description
Make this simple, thick chocolate dip using cream cheese for a rich texture perfect for fruit, cookies, or pretzels.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted (optional, for swirl)
Instructions
- Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to the cream cheese, mixing on low speed until combined.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat until the dip is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- If desired, melt the chocolate chips and drizzle them over the dip. Use a knife to gently swirl the melted chocolate into the dip for a marbled effect.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dippers, or chill for 30 minutes to firm up slightly.
Notes
- For a thinner sauce consistency, increase the milk by 1 to 2 tablespoons.
- Substitute peanut butter for half the cream cheese for a chocolate peanut butter dip variation.
- This dip works well as a topping for brownies or as a filling for sandwich cookies.
