Description

Create fun, decadent Churro Cheesecake Bars using store-bought crescent roll dough for an easy shortcut. These bars capture the warm, sugary crunch of a churro mixed with a creamy, tangy cheesecake filling. They are perfect for sharing and bring a playful dessert experience to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 3/4 cup of the granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set aside. This is your churro topping.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, sealing any seams.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar until smooth.
  5. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the unbaked crescent dough layer in the pan.
  7. In a very small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the remaining 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle this cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the cheesecake layer.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is mostly set.
  9. While the bars cool slightly, whisk together the heavy cream with the reserved 3/4 cup cinnamon-sugar topping until you have a slightly thick glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bars before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought cinnamon sugar instead of mixing your own for a faster approach.
  • For crispier edges, ensure your oven temperature is accurate.
  • These bars set up better if you allow them to chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before cutting.
