Description
Make this quick, one-pan creamy lemon garlic chicken in about 30 minutes for an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the liquid simmer and reduce slightly for 2 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. Do not let the sauce boil rapidly.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chicken.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving immediately.
Notes
- Serve this chicken over cooked pasta, rice, or alongside steamed asparagus for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a tangier sauce, add one teaspoon of lemon zest to the sauce mixture.
- Use chicken tenderloins instead of breasts for faster cooking time.
