Description

Make these simple, cheesy sausage balls using cream cheese for a moist, savory appetizer perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until they are just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
  6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on the sheet before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can prepare the dough ahead of time, cover it, and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. Roll and bake when ready.
  • For a slightly different texture, you can bake these on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet.
  • If you do not have Bisquick, you can substitute 2 cups of all-purpose flour mixed with 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
