Description
Make these simple, cheesy sausage balls using cream cheese for a moist, savory appetizer perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until they are just combined. Do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on the sheet before serving warm.
Notes
- You can prepare the dough ahead of time, cover it, and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. Roll and bake when ready.
- For a slightly different texture, you can bake these on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet.
- If you do not have Bisquick, you can substitute 2 cups of all-purpose flour mixed with 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
