Description

Make a rich, buttery, and savory garlic parmesan wing sauce at home that perfectly mimics popular restaurant versions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (aged is best)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  4. Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. Toss immediately with hot, cooked chicken wings until fully coated.

Notes

  • For a thinner sauce, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of reserved wing cooking liquid or water to the mixture.
  • If you prefer a slightly creamier texture, substitute 1/4 cup of the butter with 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, whisking it in off the heat.
  • Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
