Description

Prepare these visually appealing cinnamon roll crescents for an elegant Mother’s Day brunch. This recipe uses refrigerated dough for ease but features a rich filling and a smooth cream cheese glaze for a special touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface. Do not separate the perforations.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  4. Brush the entire surface of the dough lightly with half of the melted butter.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Starting from the long side, roll the dough up tightly into a log.
  7. Use a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss to cut the log into 8 equal pieces.
  8. Place each piece cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between them.
  9. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining melted butter.
  10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
  11. While the rolls bake, prepare the glaze: Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk together until smooth.
  12. Remove the crescents from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  13. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze generously over the warm crescents before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra elegant look, you can gently shape the baked crescents into a slight curve after they cool slightly.
  • Prepare the cream cheese glaze up to one day ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator; let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before using.
  • If you prefer a thinner glaze, add milk one teaspoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
