Make the most festive appetizer this holiday season! These Christmas Tree Spinach Dip Breadsticks are easy to make and perfect for sharing. They bring a fun, edible centerpiece to your holiday table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
- 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed very dry
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
- Red and green bell pepper strips (for decoration)
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for a little kick
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the thoroughly dried spinach until it is evenly distributed throughout the dip mixture.
- Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. You will use the entire sheet.
- Spread the spinach dip mixture evenly over the entire surface of the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the dip layer.
- Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log.
- Place the log seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the log crosswise into 1-inch thick slices.
- Arrange the cut slices on the baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree. You will need a wide base and taper the top layers.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven. While still warm, press small strips of red and green bell pepper onto the breadsticks to resemble ornaments.
- Serve immediately and watch your guests enjoy this fun holiday treat.
Notes
- Make sure your spinach is very dry. Excess water will make your dip runny.
- You can use pre-shredded Parmesan, but freshly grated melts better.
- Feel free to add a dash of hot sauce to the dip mixture if you like a little heat.
- This appetizer is best served warm, right after baking.
