Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs or chocolate wafer crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 package (10.5 oz) Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes, halved (for layering and topping)
- Green cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 1 cup sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Beat in the sour cream, then add eggs one at a time, mixing just until combined after each addition. Do not overmix.
- Pour half of the cheesecake batter over the cooled crust.
- Arrange half of the halved Little Debbie cakes on top of the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cakes. Top with the remaining halved Little Debbie cakes.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has only a slight jiggle.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside the oven with the door propped open for one hour.
- Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Before serving, decorate the top with swirls of green frosting and holiday sprinkles to resemble a Christmas tree.
Notes
- For a no-bake version, skip the crust baking step and substitute the eggs with 1 cup of whipped heavy cream folded in at the end. Omit the oven steps and chill until firm.
- Use chocolate wafer crumbs for a darker, richer crust that pairs well with the chocolate cake filling.
- If you cannot find Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes, you can use vanilla wafer cookies for the crust and decorate heavily with green frosting.
