- 1 (12.9 ounce) package refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- Cream cheese frosting (from cinnamon roll package)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Unroll the cinnamon roll dough and cut each roll into 4 pieces.
- Place the cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish.
- If using, sprinkle chopped pecans over the top.
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the cinnamon rolls to soak up the mixture.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Warm the cream cheese frosting and drizzle over the top of the casserole before serving.
Notes
- For an extra festive touch, add some red and green sprinkles after frosting.
- This casserole can be assembled the night before, making your Christmas morning stress-free.
