Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12.9 ounce) package refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Cream cheese frosting (from cinnamon roll package)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll the cinnamon roll dough and cut each roll into 4 pieces.
  3. Place the cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish.
  6. If using, sprinkle chopped pecans over the top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the cinnamon rolls to soak up the mixture.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  11. Warm the cream cheese frosting and drizzle over the top of the casserole before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra festive touch, add some red and green sprinkles after frosting.
  • This casserole can be assembled the night before, making your Christmas morning stress-free.
  • Ensure the cinnamon roll pieces are fully submerged in the egg mixture for best results.
