- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Press half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- Create a well in the center of the meatloaf and fill it with the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Top with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to fully enclose the cheese.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture.
