Description

Easy and colorful Caprese skewers are a delightful appetizer. They combine fresh cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella balls, and fragrant basil leaves. A simple drizzle of balsamic glaze adds a sweet and tangy finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 container (8 oz) small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or pearls), drained
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Thread one cherry tomato, one mozzarella ball, and one folded basil leaf onto each small skewer or toothpick.
  2. Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
  3. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  5. Drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.

Notes

  • For a more robust flavor, marinate the mozzarella balls in olive oil and herbs for at least 30 minutes before assembling.
  • You can add a small piece of prosciutto or a balsamic-marinated artichoke heart for extra flavor.
  • These skewers are best served fresh.
