Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (13-ounce) wheel of Brie cheese, room temperature
- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- Pinch of salt
- Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the wheel of Brie on a small, oven-safe serving dish or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine the pomegranate juice, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Continue to simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until the glaze thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. You want a syrupy consistency.
- Pour the warm pomegranate glaze evenly over the top of the Brie wheel.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is warm, soft, and slightly gooey in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving immediately with crackers or bread.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, you can press a few pomegranate arils (seeds) into the top of the brie before baking.
- If the glaze gets too thick while cooling, you can warm it slightly before pouring it over the cheese.
- Use high-quality Brie for the best texture and flavor experience.
