Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or a mix)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, gently mix the ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and chopped onion. Do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into small, uniform meatballs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs for 15 to 18 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the glaze thicken slightly, about 5 to 7 minutes. It should coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove the baked meatballs from the oven. Place them in a large skillet or serving bowl.
- Pour the warm apple cider glaze over the meatballs. Toss gently to coat them completely.
- Serve immediately as a warm party snack.
Notes
- You can use pre-made frozen meatballs if you are short on time.
- For an extra festive touch, garnish with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley before serving.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, let it simmer a few minutes longer or add a tiny cornstarch slurry at the end.
