Description
Cook juicy, flavorful shrimp quickly in your air fryer with a simple garlic butter coating. This recipe requires no breading and is ready in under 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, no need to fully thaw)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- If using frozen shrimp, rinse them under cold water for one minute to remove ice crystals, then pat them dry. If using fresh, pat them dry thoroughly.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss gently until every piece is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove from the air fryer, toss with fresh lemon juice if using, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving immediately.
Notes
- For a crispier texture, you can increase the temperature to 400°F (205°C) and reduce the cook time by one minute.
- This shrimp works well served over salads, mixed into pasta, or used as a filling for tacos or lettuce wraps.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
