Description

Cook juicy, flavorful shrimp quickly in your air fryer with a simple garlic butter coating. This recipe requires no breading and is ready in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, no need to fully thaw)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using frozen shrimp, rinse them under cold water for one minute to remove ice crystals, then pat them dry. If using fresh, pat them dry thoroughly.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss gently until every piece is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  7. Remove from the air fryer, toss with fresh lemon juice if using, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, you can increase the temperature to 400°F (205°C) and reduce the cook time by one minute.
  • This shrimp works well served over salads, mixed into pasta, or used as a filling for tacos or lettuce wraps.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
