Description

Make tender cauliflower steaks with a crispy, flavorful garlic and Parmesan crust using your air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower head into four thick, 1-inch slices, keeping the core intact to hold the slices together. Reserve any remaining florets for another use.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Brush this mixture evenly over both sides of each cauliflower steak.
  3. In a separate shallow dish, spread the grated Parmesan cheese. Press each side of the oiled cauliflower steaks firmly into the Parmesan cheese to coat them well.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  5. Place the coated cauliflower steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through the cooking time, until the cheese is golden brown and the cauliflower is tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If the cheese begins to brown too quickly, lightly tent the steaks with foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
  • For extra flavor, you can add 1/4 teaspoon of dried Italian herbs to the Parmesan coating mixture.
  • If you prefer a softer texture, reduce the cook time by 2 minutes.
