Description
Make tender cauliflower steaks with a crispy, flavorful garlic and Parmesan crust using your air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Cut the cauliflower head into four thick, 1-inch slices, keeping the core intact to hold the slices together. Reserve any remaining florets for another use.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Brush this mixture evenly over both sides of each cauliflower steak.
- In a separate shallow dish, spread the grated Parmesan cheese. Press each side of the oiled cauliflower steaks firmly into the Parmesan cheese to coat them well.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
- Place the coated cauliflower steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through the cooking time, until the cheese is golden brown and the cauliflower is tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
- If the cheese begins to brown too quickly, lightly tent the steaks with foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
- For extra flavor, you can add 1/4 teaspoon of dried Italian herbs to the Parmesan coating mixture.
- If you prefer a softer texture, reduce the cook time by 2 minutes.
