Description
Make crispy Cajun shrimp skewers quickly in your air fryer. This recipe includes a simple lemon butter sauce for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning blend
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- For the Sauce: 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
Instructions
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper until the shrimp are evenly coated.
- Thread 3 to 4 seasoned shrimp onto each prepared skewer.
- Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Arrange the shrimp skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is space between them for air circulation. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 7 to 9 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and slightly crispy.
- While the shrimp cooks, prepare the sauce: Whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, and fresh parsley in a small bowl.
- Remove the cooked skewers from the air fryer. Serve immediately with the lemon butter sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray just before the last two minutes of air frying.
- Use high-quality, pre-mixed Cajun seasoning for the best flavor.
- If you do not have wooden skewers, you can cook the shrimp directly in the air fryer basket.
