Description

Make delicious, soft, and fluffy cinnamon sugar donuts right in your air fryer. This recipe offers a healthier take on a classic favorite, perfect for a fun treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, 2 tablespoons melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with parchment paper.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the greased donut molds or directly into the air fryer basket, filling each about two-thirds full. If using a basket, you may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the donuts are cooking, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a shallow dish, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  8. Once the donuts are cooked, immediately brush them with the 1/4 cup melted butter.
  9. Dip each warm donut into the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  10. Let the donuts cool slightly before serving and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure your donut molds are air fryer safe.
  • Do not overfill the donut molds or air fryer basket to prevent overflow.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.
  • For extra fluffy donuts, be careful not to overmix the batter.
