Description
Make quick, high-protein chicken breasts in the air fryer that stay juicy inside and develop a crispy Parmesan crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts completely dry using paper towels. This helps achieve crispiness.
- In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
- Brush the chicken breasts lightly with olive oil.
- In a separate shallow dish, mix the grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley. Press the top side of each chicken breast firmly into the Parmesan mixture to coat it evenly.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, Parmesan-side up. Do not overcrowd the basket.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Cooking time depends on thickness.
- Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin (if using skin-on thighs), ensure the skin is very dry before seasoning.
- If your chicken breasts are very thick (over 1 inch), pound them to an even thickness for consistent cooking.
- To prevent the Parmesan from burning, check the chicken around the 10-minute mark.
