Instructions
- Wash the potatoes well under running water. Scrub the skin thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Dry the potatoes completely using a paper towel. Moisture prevents crisping.
- Pierce each potato 5 to 6 times deeply all over with a fork or sharp knife. This allows steam to escape.
- In a bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil until lightly coated.
- Sprinkle the coarse salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using) evenly over the skins. Rub the seasoning in gently.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket. Work in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 35 to 45 minutes. The time depends on the size of your potatoes.
- Check for doneness by piercing the center with a knife; it should slide in with no resistance.
- Carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer. Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
